The Louisiana Attorney General is issuing a letter to the city of New Orleans, calling on them to refund some tickets that were issued.
Attorney General Liz Murrill says the city did not enter into an agreement with NOLA Public Schools before activating speed cameras in school zones, which is required by state law.
Murrill calls on New Orleans to refund tickets issued to drivers in school zones from August of 2024 through May of this year.
The state Attorney General also threatens legal action if the cameras are activated again without an agreement in accordance with state law.
