The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission is asking drivers to help lower pedestrian death rates in the state.
Louisiana saw a 9.5-percent increase in pedestrians killed in 2024 over 2023.
Authorities ask drivers to slow down, drive without distractions, and look out for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcyclists on the road.
The LHSC warning comes as the school season gets started and more people are out walking.
