State regulators are approving a plan to power a Meta AI data center in northeast Louisiana's Richland Parish.

The Public Service Commission voted four to one in favor of Entergy's plan at a meeting in Plaquemine on Wednesday.

Meta's $10 billion facility will be built on former agricultural land - but the project is expected to have large power needs.

Now that a plan has been approved, Entergy plans to construct three new plants and transmission infrastructure to provide the electricity needed for the data center.
