Higgins Calls For Defunding Of New Orleans Health Department

A United States Congressman from Louisiana says the New Orleans Health Department should lose federal funding over its COVID-19 vaccine guidance.

Clay Higgins, a Lafayette Republican, objects to the department's statement that children ages six months to two years should be vaccinated.

Department heads say the recommendation comes from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Higgins says both the New Orleans Health Department and the American Academy of Pediatrics should be 100 percent defunded.
