Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is getting involved in an upcoming case before the United States Supreme Court.
The Attorney General's office announced on Wednesday the filing of a brief in the case dealing with the state's redrawn congressional map.
Plaintiffs claim the majority-Black 6th District was created by means of unconstitutional racial gerrymandering. Murrill agrees.
The high court will hear arguments in the case on October 15.
The outcome could have a nationwide impact on how states draw their congressional maps.
