Slidell is preparing to elect a new mayor in one of the most important races on the Northshore this fall.
The candidates are Interim Mayor Bill Borchert and Police Chief Randy Fandal.
Former Mayor Greg Cromer resigned early from his final term to work for the Department of Transportation and Development in Gov. Jeff Landry's administration.
Slidell's election day is scheduled for October 11.
