Louisiana has more Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers than any other state except for Texas.

With the recent opening of the Louisiana Lockup at Angola Prison, Louisiana now has eight holding facilities and one staging area for handling ICE detainees. Texas has more than 20 ICE facilities.

The deputy director of ICE says the agency plans to make good use of Louisiana's ICE detention centers.

Gov. Jeff Landry is on board with President Donald Trump's robust immigration enforcement policies.
