The Southern Rail Commission says Amtrak's Mardi Gras line is more popular than they expected.
Since launching last month, the line has carried riders between New Orleans, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Mobile.
New Orleans Saints home games have brought the biggest numbers of passengers. As a result, Amtrak is adding about 170 more seats on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of each home game weekend.
The Southern Rail Commission is also thinking about adding rail cars for the holiday season, the Sugar Bowl, and Jazz Fest.
