A recent poll shows former interim NOPD Supt. Michelle Woodfork with a strong lead in the race for Orleans Parish Sheriff.
Last week's citywide poll of 625 registered voters showed Woodfork has 45 percent support, with incumbent Sheriff Susan Hutson a distant second at ten percent.
Four other candidates trailed in single digits, but 25 percent of respondents said they were undecided.
If no candidate gets 50 percent of the vote in the October 11th primary, the top two vote-getters will go to a runoff on November 15th.
