Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is one of 17 attorneys general who are urging universities nationwide to protect free speech on campus.
Their letter follows the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier this month.
It condemns all political violence and tells university officials not to use Kirk's killing to justify restrictions on campus speech.
The attorneys general warned against the use of the "Assassin's Veto," whereby universities impose stiff security fees on conservative speakers to prevent them from appearing.
