Mayor LaToya Cantrell is proposing $74 million in new taxes and fees to help balance the Fiscal 2026 city budget.

The term-limited mayor presented a spending plan to the City Council on Wednesday that included increases in sales taxes, property taxes, business permitting fees, sanitation fees, parking fees, and parking fines.

Public hearings on the budget are scheduled to start on October 14. Council members say they intend to pass the 2026 budget by December 1.
