A local jailbreak that made nationwide headlines is now turning up on game shows.
Last week, the TV quiz show Jeopardy featured a category about "Prisons." The $1,000 final clue referred to "inmates who escaped this one-word parish's justice center in 2025."
One contestant incorrectly guessed Plaquemines while the other two had nothing. Host Ken Jennings told them the answer was Orleans Parish.
Ten inmates escaped from the parish lockup in May, and one of them is still on the run.
