New Orleans City Council Candidates Head To November Runoff

Two candidates are heading to a runoff election for New Orleans City Council District E.

Both Jason Hughes and Cyndi Nguyen did not get over 50 percent of the vote on Saturday. Now, they'll face off on a November 15th ballot.

Hughes currently serves as a state representative for Orleans Parish.

Nguyen was the District E councilmember in 2018, but lost the last election to current Councilmember Oliver Thomas.
