Gov. Jeff Landry has signed an executive order placing new limits on carbon capture and storage oversight.
This move makes CCS a coordinated state priority and increases regulatory control within Louisiana.
Landry says the order responds to public concerns and directs state agencies to coordinate efforts.
The governor says the initiative could spur economic growth, including about 17,000 jobs and around $76 billion in investments proposed by CCS projects.
