New Orleans City Officials Discuss Budget Cuts

New Orleans officials are trying to figure out how to deal with a $160 million budget deficit.

City Council members held a fourth day of budget hearings on Monday.

Every city department must cut 30 percent of its budget to save the city $200 million. The budget cuts threaten city services ranging from emergency response to mental health programs for children.

Hearings resumed this morning with Code Enforcement and the Department of Safety and Permits.
