An emergency meeting is scheduled for today as New Orleans leaders try to figure out how to pay city workers through the end of the year.

City Council vice president and mayor-elect Helena Moreno said Tuesday that the city may be facing a budget crisis above and beyond its existing financial problems.

Today's meeting will involve the City Council and members of Mayor LaToya Cantrell's departing administration.

Cantrell hasn't commented on the budget crisis, and it's not clear whether she'll be at today's meeting.
