Gov. Jeff Landry will discuss the status of SNAP benefits in Louisiana in a news this afternoon.
The federal Department of Agriculture has announced that the ongoing government shutdown will keep benefits from being loaded onto SNAP cards at the start of November this Saturday.
State lawmakers are working out the details of a plan to fund SNAP benefits using money from the Louisiana Department of Health.
