Several New Orleans city leaders will meet on Wednesday with state officials in Baton Rouge in another effort to secure emergency bond funds from the state.
The city faces a $160 million budget deficit and is trying to make sure city workers can be paid through the end of the year.
City leaders backed out of a meeting last week with the State Bond Commission after balking at the state's conditions.
Gov. Jeff Landry and Attorney General Liz Murrill insisted on the indefinite appointment of a state fiscal administrator to oversee the city's finances and spending.
