Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson won't have to pay the full fine for missing a campaign reporting deadline.

Hutson convinced the Louisiana Board of Ethics on Friday that she shouldn't have to pay because her attorney was behind bars at the time.

The board was going to fine her $2,800 for filing the annual report for her political action committee three weeks late earlier this year. The board reduced the fine to $500.

The PAC's attorney pleaded guilty a year ago to possession of child pornography.
