A LaPlace woman is accused of deliberately setting fire to a house with a child inside.
Firefighters responded around 10:30 p.m. Friday to the burning home on West Frisco Drive. Officials say the minor escaped unharmed because the home had a working smoke alarm.
Investigators say the fire was intentionally started by Brandi Frank.
The State Fire Marshal arrested Frank for one count each of aggravated arson and cruelty to juveniles. No word yet about Frank's motive or an estimate of the damage.
