Suspects In Attempted Meat Heist Arrested In Slidell

Five suspects are in custody and accused of trying to steal a large quantity of meat from a Walmart in Slidell.

Officers responded on Monday to a report of shoplifting at the store.

Investigators say five men loaded steaks, oxtails, crab meat, and salmon into a car and tried to drive away.

Police soon pulled over the car, recovered the stolen goods, and arrested the suspects. Their names haven't been released.
