Sentencing is in April for a former guard at an ICE facility who pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday of having a sexual relationship with a federal detainee.

Prosecutors say David Courvelle engaged in the relationship with the Nicaraguan detainee at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center in Basile from May to July.

Courvelle resigned after the relationship came to light.

He faces up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and supervised release of up to three years.
