The New Orleans Police Department will hold a news conference today to discuss security concerns it faced on New Year's Eve.

The police are reporting no major security problems during the city's celebrations.

That's a welcome relief from a year ago, when a terrorist vehicle attack early on New Year's Day killed 14 people and injured dozens more on Bourbon Street.

Former NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison is joining Mayor-elect Helena Moreno's administration as Deputy Mayor of Public Safety.
