The 2031 Super Bowl may end up in New Orleans after all.

The city's chances suffered a setback in September when city and state officials missed an NFL deadline to submit their official bid for the event.

But Saints owner Gayle Benson and Governor Jeff Landry met on Tuesday with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the league's headquarters in New York.

Benson and Landry pleaded the case for New Orleans as the ideal host city for the Super Bowl.

There are about 28,000 hotel rooms inside the triangle defined by the Superdome, the Convention Center, and the French Quarter.
