A California doctor is under a felony indictment and accused of shipping abortion pills into Louisiana.
State Attorney General Liz Murrill's office said Remy Coeytaux is charged in St. Tammany Parish with criminal abortion by means of abortion-inducing drugs.
Murrill stated, "This is not health care; it's drug dealing."
State officials sent an extradition request to Gov. Jeff Landry, seeking to bring Coeytaux to Louisiana to face charges.
Coeytaux could face a penalty of up to 50 years in prison, plus fines.
