As crawfish season gets underway in Louisiana, the price of is on the high side.
The average price of live crawfish is about $7.24 a pound, while boiled crawfish will set you back about $10.10 per pound, according to the Crawfish App.
Laney King, co-founder of the app, says that's to be expected early in the season, with smaller cold-water crawdads.
But she says we're heading into a promising crawfish season, and prices can be expected to drop as crawfish get bigger and supplies increase.
