At the end of her first week in office, New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno still doesn't have access to the city's social media accounts.
The lockout is interfering with Moreno's commitment to transparency by keeping her from communicating with the city's residents.
She was unable to post about her inauguration, the 13 executive orders on her first day, and major upgrades to city streets, sidewalks, and streetlights.
Moreno's office has reportedly urged the social media companies to prioritize fixing the problem.
"We’ll continue to work 24/7 to make sure the people of New Orleans stay informed," said Isis Casnova, Moreno's communications director.
