Suspect Arrested In Series Of Bywater Arson Fires

A suspect is in custody and accused of a series of arson fires in the Bywater neighborhood early Monday morning.]

Police arrested Kyle Tomeson in the French Quarter on Tuesday.

Tomeson is suspected of setting fire to eight vehicles and a two-story house around Dauphine, Desire, and Montegut Streets.

A New Orleans Fire Department official described the fires as cases of aggravated arson, which is punishable in Louisiana by up to 20 years in state prison and a fine of up to $25,000 per fire.
