A former St. Charles Parish deputy faces charges after an internal investigation.
The Sheriff's Office in November started looking into claims that money being held as evidence had been removed from the evidence room without authorization.
The evidence room had been under the supervision of Lt. Kevin Hollingsworth, who retired last March.
Hollingsworth was arrested for theft, injury to public records, and malfeasance in office by tampering with evidence.
