Sen. Bill Cassidy's re-election campaign is launching its first TV ad.
The campaign spot for the Louisiana Republican mentions Cassidy's work in sponsoring legislation to crack down on fentanyl dealers.
The ad also shows images of President Donald Trump, who less than a week ago endorsed U.S. Representative Julia Letlow's campaign challenging Cassidy for his Senate seat.
Cassidy was one of the few Republicans who voted to convict Trump during his impeachment over the unrest at the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
