New strip clubs are once again allowed to open in the French Quarter.

The New Orleans City Council on Tuesday repealed a recent ordinance that banned new strip clubs from opening in the historic part of town.

The moratorium was put in place three weeks ago by the outgoing city council, over the opposition of exotic dancers who said it would interfere with their ability to make a living.

The council reversed the ban after 30 minutes of testimony from current and former dancers.
