A former New Orleans official is out of state prison after serving time on several charges.

Former 911 call center director Tyrell Morris was released from Department of Corrections custody on Sunday. Authorities say Morris served his time.

This comes after Morris was sentenced to a year in prison last October for malfeasance in office, personation of a public official, unlawful production of public records and insurance fraud as part of a plan to misrepresent what happened during a city vehicle crash in 2023.
