The Orleans Parish School Board is rejecting the latest offer to settle an ongoing lawsuit over some funding the city owes.

The school board sued the city after former Mayor LaToya Cantrell reportedly backed out of a deal to provide the school district $90 million in diverted tax revenue over a ten-year stretch.

Cantrell's actions were opposed by the outgoing city council.

Mayor Helena Moreno's administration has been interested in reaching a settlement. But on Tuesday, the school board voted against the city's offer as insufficient.
