Democrat Chasity Martinez is the winner of the special election for the Louisiana House District 60 seat.
The Louisiana Secretary of State website says Martinez defeated Republican Brad Daigle in Saturday's election by 62 percent of the vote to 38 percent.
The House seat in Iberville and Assumption Parishes was vacated when Gov. Jeff Landry appointed former State Representative Chad Brown to be the state's commissioner of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.
