National Guard: Soldier Left Rifle Unattended In French Quarter Restroom

The National Guard is confirming that one of its soldiers left his rifle behind on Sunday night in a bathroom at a Bourbon Street hotel.

It's not clear how long the abandoned weapon was in the bathroom before somebody returned it to the Louisiana National Guard.

The Guard hasn't identified the soldier or indicated what disciplinary measures he may face.

The National Guard is stationed in the French Quarter to provide security during the Carnival season.
