The Audubon Species Survival Center is announcing the birth of a critically endangered Okapi calf.
The Audubon Nature Institute says Okapi are giraffe relatives that are found only in a rain forest in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nobody knows how many Okapi survive in the wild. There are only 90 in zoos in the US.
Only a few calves are born every year. Last month's birth is the second in the US this year, and the second born at the Audubon Zoo.
