A Baton Rouge businessman wants to buy Spirit Airlines and move its hub to New Orleans.

John Miller, founder of the Country Club of Louisiana, proposed his plan during a press club meeting on Monday.

Miller is pitching the idea to investors at a time when the airline's stock is trading at less than three cents a share.

He says bringing Spirit's headquarters to New Orleans will provide a huge economic benefit for the state.
