A state lawmaker has questions after Louisiana National Guard soldiers shoved a man to the ground in the French Quarter.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. Sunday on the corner of Bourbon and St. Peter Streets.
Three Guardsmen were standing around when the man reportedly approached and harassed them, demanding to see their ID and refusing to back off.
After several minutes, a Guardsman shoved him down and put him in cuffs.
State Representative Mandie Landry, a New Orleans Democrat, calls the incident a "clear overreaction."
A Louisiana National Guard spokesman had no comment.
