NOLA Public Schools says 15 campuses will be closed today because of a water main break near South Claiborne Avenue and Toledano Street.
The rupture of the 30-inch pipeline on Monday caused flooding and loss of water pressure.
The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans issued a boil-water notice for much of the city. School officials say campuses can't operate safely without drinking water and working restrooms.
Crews are still working to repair the break.
