Gov. Jeff Landry wants Louisiana's congressional leaders to adjust the state's federal judicial districts.

Landry contacted Speaker Mike Johnson, Sen. John Kennedy, Congresswoman Julia Letlow, and Congressman Cleo Fields asking for the change.

Landry says West Feliciana Parish should be moved from the Middle District to the Western District. The governor says rapid growth in the Middle District has led to an increased caseload for its judges.

Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola is in West Feliciana Parish.
