The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is on the receiving end of a federal grant of more than $27 million.
The Federal Transit Administration awarded the grant as part of a nationwide program to upgrade aging bus fleets and infrastructure.
The funds will be used to replace buses that have reached the end of their useful life, in an effort to help buses arrive on time and reduce maintenance costs.
The grant will also pay to rehab two operations and maintenance facilities.
