A public memorial is planned today for Dr. Norman Francis, former president of Xavier University.
Francis died last month at the age of 94.
Members of the public can pay their respects at Xavier's Convocation Center.
A family program is scheduled for this evening, followed by a funeral mass on Tuesday morning at St. Louis Cathedral.
Francis served as the president of Xavier for 47 years. In 2006, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush.
