A Louisiana court is denying an appeal from New Orleans attorney John Fuller to put his name back on the ballot for criminal court judge.

A judge disqualified Fuller last week for reportedly failing to file a state tax return for 2020.

Fuller and Orleans Parish prosecutor Andre Gaudin Jr. were running for a seat vacated by Judge Darryl Derbigny's retirement last summer.

The Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal affirmed the disqualification on Tuesday. The ruling leaves Gaudin the only candidate in the race.
