New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno says her "Lights On" initiative is well underway.
Moreno announced on Tuesday that city and state workers have replaced or repaired more than 1,600 lights alongside the city's roadways.
Moreno launched the initiative in January, on her second day in office.
She also stated that the Louisiana Department of Transportation has replaced more than 150 lights at the interchange of I-10 and I-610.
The new lights are LED, which require less maintenance and lower cost.
