New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno is reporting on a meeting she had with Governor Jeff Landry in Baton Rouge on Wednesday.
Moreno says she discussed pending legislation about the Sewerage and Water Board with Landry and about 15 members of his team.
She says the city has to turn to the legislature when it wants changes made to the utility.
Moreno wants lawmakers in the current legislative session to grant the City Council more authority to reform the board.
Meanwhile, the city is dealing with its sixth water main break in as many weeks, the latest happening Thursday afternoon Uptown on Willow Street. FOX 8 reports repairs are expected to take around three days.
