State lawmakers are considering a bill to raise the minimum wage in Louisiana.
The proposed legislation would increase the minimum wage by over 40 percent to be $10.25 per hour. If it goes into effect, this would be the first minimum wage increase in Louisiana since 2009.
If Senate Bill 230 is passed, it would then be put on the ballot for voters to decide on as a constitutional amendment for the state.
