The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has a plan to address the city's water distribution system.
The written action plan that came out Monday night aims to fix the aging system which is plagued by pipe breaks and boil water advisories.
The utility says they want to get work started by 2027, but funding is a potential obstacle, with work expected to cost billions of dollars.
The plan was created after Mayor Helena Moreno demanded one and now she is working to help determine and secure funding.
