LSU plans to close its golf course to the public on May 9th, and will shut it down permanently on June 30th.

University officials didn't say why the course is being shut down.

A university spokesperson says golfers played more than 15,000 rounds on the 18-hole course during fiscal year 2025. But expenses outpaced revenue by nearly $30,000.

Several parts of the course show wear and tear. An employee says the course never quite had enough funding to keep it maintained under heavy usage.
