New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno says the city is making pothole repair a priority.
In a Facebook video on Monday, Moreno said the Department of Public Works aims to fill 1,500 potholes a week.
As of Monday, the department is delegating the job of moving barriers to other city departments, freeing up work crews to deal with repairs.
The goal is to repair a pothole within 30 days of the time somebody makes a 311 request. Right now the wait is almost two years.
