Jefferson Parish at-large councilwoman Jennifer Van Vrancken says she's thinking about running for parish president.
Scott Walker, the parish's other at-large council member, had earlier announced a run for the position, but said this week he's dropping out.
Current Jefferson Parish president Cynthia Lee Sheng can't run again because of term limits.
Van Vrancken says the main issues facing the parish include the loss of its bond rating, raises for firemen, and the high cost of water bills and insurance.
